Local Produce
We have fresh produce from Growing Green Family Farm. They are a local farm in Anderson, SC. Here’s some information on their growing practices:
Growing Green’s growing practices: we do not use any pesticides or herbicides, we use composted leaf mulch and OMRI certified organic composted chicken mature (already aged 2 years for safety) for our amendments.
For our hydroponic systems we use epson salt, organic calcium with nitrogen, and an all natural nutrient blend for the micro nutrients. Our growing media is rockwool for the lettuce & perlite for the microgreens (both are derived from natural sources) and all of our transplants use a locally sourced potting soil mixture.
Rather than growing with your traditional row crops, we try to utilize permaculture growing methods to increase the biodiversity of our farm, which also helps to naturally break up the pest cycles. We also utilize companion planting, which has drastically reduced the pest pressure, which helps make it possible to grow without any pesticides while helping to keep the earth covered so that no herbicides are needed.
And be sure to check out our New Arrivals section to see what we available.
