New this week
We received organic kale and shiitakes last week and more peaches and blueberries. Also vine-ripened no spray tomatoes from the coop garden, as well as cucumbers and beans. If you’d like fresh basil, please tell the manager and you can cut your own from our garden.

As a thank you for your support, receive a free Alter Eco organic chocolate bar with purchases over $15 during the month of July, until supplies run out. Limit one per household per day.
Recent Local Produce & Products
We received organic kale and shiitakes last week and more peaches and blueberries.  Still in stock: a few cucumbers, beans and tomatoes and basil from the co-op garden, Romaine lettuce, Covington, purple & Murasaki sweet potatoes, watermelon radishes, chestnuts (NC – freezer), turmeric, and butternut squash. Recipes for using some of these vegetables are available by the produce bins
2024 Membership Renewals
Memberships are due the first time you shop at the Co-op in 2024. The cost is $30 for the entire year, which is still a great deal. Thank you for your continued support!

Free Dish Soap with Membership As a thank you for your support, receive a free bottle of Seventh Generation dish liquid soap with your new or renewed membership, until supplies run out. Limit one per household.
Open Volunteer Jobs

Blue Ridge Brinery: We have kvass, and all flavors of sauerkraut & kimchee in stock.
Growing Greens Family Farm: We have butternut squash in stock.
Healthy Hen Farm: We have large eggs, dried eggs, local & sourwood honey in stock
Local Meats:We are out of stock due to our local supplier being out of stock, but plan to restock by the end of July.
Rickety Barn Farm:We have pasture-raised chicken and traditional flavor pot pies in the freezer – made with all natural ingredients. Each pie feeds 4. 
Roundtop Farm:We have red turmeric in stock.
Organic sourdough bread:We have traditional, as well as flavored sourdough (cheddar jalapeno, rosemary & garlic) in the freezer.
Monthly Senior Discount Day 
The Co-Op offers a 5% discount to seniors 65+ on the 3rd Saturday of each month.  The next senior
discount day will be held on Saturday, August 17. 

Updated COVID-19 Reminders – Masks are now optional for shoppers – We are still following recommended safety protocolsThe Pickens County community level is LOW. Based on the current CDC and SC DHEC guidelines, masks are optional for shoppers.

Order Due Dates and Delivery Dates
Online ordering calendar UNFI — We will receive a delivery on Wednesday, July 24. The next order due date is Monday, July 29 for delivery on Wednesday, August 7. We receive orders every two weeks. 

Happy Cow –we will receive a delivery on  Tuesday, July 23. Place orders by Saturday, August 3  for delivery on Tuesday, August 6. We receive orders every two weeks.

Blueberry Peach Salad

Yield: 6 servings

Description
All the ingredients except the feta and lemon juice are available from the co-op

Ingredients
1 pint fresh blueberries
2 peaches, diced (leaving the skin on adds texture, vitamins & color)
2 cucumbers, sliced
1/2 C crumbled feta cheese
3 TBSP fresh lemon juice
1 TBSP Dijon mustard
1 TBSP honey
1TBSP olive oil
1 TBSP finely chopped basil
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste


Instructions
In  a large serving bowl combine the blueberries, peaches, cucumbers and feta.

Make dressing: In a small bowl, jar with a lid, or in a medium liquid measuring cup, whisk together lemon juice, Dijon mustard, honey, olive oil, basil, salt and pepper.

Pour the dressing over the salad and gently mix everything together.  Taste for seasoning and garnish with extra basil if desired.  Serve or cover and refrigerate the salad until ready to serve.

Storage
